Here are Dinky's versions of the car and boat from The Investigator pilot. They were released under the confusing titles of 'Armoured Command Car' and 'Coastguard Amphibious Missile Lauch' respectively. I suspect that molds were made but when the pilot programme bombed they decided to turn the vehicles into something else to get a return on their investment.
The original car had a red color scheme and missed the star decal, the radar areal and its black canopy, as well as the cruft at the back. Otherwise, the two vehicles seem to be identical.
As far as the boat is concerned, I have seen the pilot only once so there's not much I can add, apart from the fact that it, just as its counterpart, was disguised as something else.
Sometime in the early 2000's the construction drawings for the toys surfaced on the Vectis auction site; I saved them here for posterity.
